Ethics and Sustainability
We believe in slow fashion
Over the last 40-50 years innovations in fashion industry supply chains have led to the phenomenon of fast fashion.
Manufacturers aim to churn out high volumes of new collections, made quickly and cheaply, to continuously offer new products at an affordable price. But this comes at an environmental and human cost.
Manufacturers cut costs wherever they can. Choosing cheaper materials, using unethical and exploitative labour practices and production processes that lead to unnecessary pollution.
of humanity's carbon emissions comes from fashion production
That’s more emissions than all international flights and maritime shipping combined.
Nearly as high as the total emissions from the entire European continent.
of ocean microplastics come from synthetic materials such as polyester. These kind of materials make up about 60% of clothing being produced today.
This isn’t something we want to contribute to.
We believe that it is the responsibility of businesses and consumers alike to offer better alternatives and to choose better alternatives. From materials to suppliers, we strive to make considered decisions to create great products that you buy once and love forever. All the while aiming to have the smallest possible impact on the world.
We are not claiming to be doing everything perfectly, but where we can we choose ethically sound materials and choose to only work with suppliers with sustainable practices and accreditations such as from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
What we're doing well
From poster prints and to t-shirts, all inks used and the printing processes are eco-friendly and Soil Associated Approved.
Organic, Ethical Cotton
Our t-shirts are made from medium-light weight cotton that’s soft to the touch and responsibly manufactured (no sweatshops here!) by Continental Clothing – find out more about Earth Positive Clothing here.
What we're looking to improve
We aim to completely remove single-use plastics from our supply chain by the end of 2021 – and we’re already very close!
