Toxic Axolotls? Toxolotls. These cute critters roam the bottom of the pond cleaning up all the poison and toxins. This means, in most cases, the water they swim in is crystal clear. Even though they’re friend-shaped, don’t be fooled. Hold one of these suckers in your hand for more than a second and you start feeling woozy.
